Keeping body and soul together...Naturally! Nature's Way Market has been serving the Greensburg area since 1977. Now in our 30th year we have set the standard for what a natural supermarket can achieve. From the beginning, owner Kitty Tuscano has insisted on the very highest quality products, while always emphasizing customer service.
Pittsburgh’s last public market house was demolished in 1965 to make way for development on the North Side, greatly reducing the opportunities for local farmers, vendors and artisans to showcase their wares and for consumers to enjoy the freshness, variety and uniqueness of the food and merchandise grown and created in our region. Seasonal farmers markets, craft fairs and, to a large extent, the Strip itself, have helped to fill this gap, but even more was needed.
In 2003 Neighbors in the Strip (NITS) began studies and plans to create an indoor, year-round public market located in what is already Pittsburgh’s historic market district, the Strip. NITS focused on the historic Produce Terminal Building as the ideal venue in which to develop a public market that will promote the growth of new businesses, allow for the expansion of local businesses and feature the best of what our region offers.
And it’s finally here, Pittsburgh now has a public market with an outstanding group of vendors of local products to enhance what the Strip already offers. So check the list of merchants, marvel at the diversity and quality of their products, prepare for a new and exciting shopping experience, and come and get it!
