Western PA Buy Fresh Buy Local Partners can now showcase their local sourcing practices and community engagement with 1LOCAL (“one local”). Through the 1LOCAL.org self-assessment tool and customized infographic, restaurants, retailers and farmers markets can build consumer trust by defining what “local” means to them and “opening their books” regarding their local food sourcing practices.

This region is part of the Western Pennsylvania Buy Fresh Buy Local chapter, coordinated by the Western Regional Office of the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA).
Western PA Chapter Coordinator
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help coordinate activities and events for this region. Volunteering is a great way to meet individuals who share a passion for delicious, locally-grown foods and the farmers that produce them. The opportunities are varied, including activities such as:
–collecting data for the Local Foods Directory
–visiting our farm partners and taking photos or videos
–helping to organize a film festival
–distributing materials to our partners
–staffing our table display at an event
–surveying shoppers at farmers markets
–writing articles for our newsletter
