Miriam Rubin has been a food and garden writer in New York and Pennsylvania, and currently writes for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Table Magazine, Prevention and Weight Watchers Magazine. A cookbook author and editor, she is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Miriam grows delectable edibles in her garden in rural
Greene County. Virginia Phillips is a food writer for the Post Gazette, translator of French pastry chef Christine Ferber's cookbooks, and founder of Slow Food Pittsburgh, a chapter of an international organization dedicated to counteracting fast food, nurturing
local food traditions and teaching through taste how food choices affect people, animals and the planet. Virginia serves on the board of Farmers @ Firehouse farmers market. She planted raised beds this year, with lots else in other spots and pots.
